Garden Maintenance

We carry out garden maintenance for private clients across the central belt. Availability is limited, and generally we take on only a handful of new clients each year. Tom spent many years as a gardener and landscape maintenance contractor, prior to qualifying in garden design, so is able to provide a holistic and knowledgeable maintenance service for demanding gardens.

After an initial consultation, a detailed maintenance schedule is drawn up, and this serves as the basis for a maintenance service that not only keeps the garden looking its best, but ensures that it matures over time, looking better and better each year. Tom’s diverse horticultural background means he can ensure that carefully designed gardens are developed as intended, or equally that as opportunities arise in a garden - as often happens when dealing with plants - these are used to let the garden find its own way, with our gentle guidance of course!

Whether you are requiring comprehensive management of extensive flowerbeds, or a light touch, sympathetic service to a more naturalistic garden, we have the skills, patience, knowledge and enthusiasm to make this happen. Whilst we have the capacity for mowing lawns and trimming hedges, typically our jobs are focused more on the horticultural maintenance required in plant-heavy or naturalistic gardens.

Garden maintenance services are available in Glasgow, Edinburgh and across the central belt of Scotland. Limited spaces are available.

How does it work?

  • After an initial phone call, the first step is an in-depth meeting held with you on-site, and a detailed inspection of the site. This allows a comprehensive and entirely bespoke garden maintenance specification to be produced for you. A full soil test is carried out to assess fertiliser requirements.

  • A highly detailed garden maintenance specification is produced for you and delivered as a PDF. Regardless of whether you go on to become a client, this is a valuable document that can be used to inform and benchmark ongoing maintenance.

  • A detailed quotation is provided for maintaining your garden. We are happy to work alongside other contractors who may take care of your grass cutting and hedge trimming, allowing us to focus on horticultural tasks on the site - weeding, pruning, cutting back, thinning out, fertilizing, mulching and so on.

  • The frequency of the actual visits vary from weekly to quarterly, depending on your requirements. Tom enjoys remaining hands-on and is often working on site himself, but when that is not the case, he still makes regular visits and closely manages each and every maintenance contract himself.

  • Every garden is different, and no two gardens cost the same - call Tom for a chat to help get more of a grasp on how much your garden might cost.

In terms of how the payment process works, you first pay for the initial consultation, from which you receive the detailed maintenance specification and full soil test. If you go on to become a client, payment is usually made either monthly or after each visit.
