Project: Installation of planters (private client)

Location: Glasgow West

This garden terrace, in one of the most exclusive areas of Glasgow, was a blank canvas when Tom went in for the initial consultation. The clients wished to turn the area into an intimate area for entertaining and relaxing, amongst lush, wildlife-friendly planting.

The precise layout of the planters within the modest constraints of the terrace was critical - the goal was jungle-like space that felt like you were being embraced by the plants, but the terrace still had to work functionally, and not be difficult to walk around or through. Arching plants were used to create negative space effects around the terrace, and specific species of ornamental grass were to used that would arch over the heads of seated guests without poking them in eye or dripping on them if they were wet.

The clients were delighted with the end result and we are retained to undertake regular maintenance and keep the plants performing to their absolute best.
